Christopher Scott

After graduating law school in 2008, Chris worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office in Topeka, KS.  He mainly prosecuted an adult felony caseload and conducted jury trials for cases including but not limited to DUI, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, possession and distribution of controlled substances, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, burglary and theft, domestic violence, rape, criminal sodomy, attempted murder and murder.

In January 2013, Chris moved to the Leavenworth County Attorney’s Office in Leavenworth, KS as an Assistant County Attorney where he charged, prosecuted, and handled appeals for major felony and drug cases, as well as felony traffic offenses.  He conducted jury trials on cases including but not limited to attempted murder, rape, criminal sodomy, aggravated robbery, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, distribution of controlled substances, and felony DUI.  He also wrote appeal briefs and successfully argued numerous cases in front of Kansas Appellate Courts.  

Chris presented on prosecuting drug cases at the Kansas County and District Attorney’s Association Spring Conference in 2014, and on investigating and prosecuting DUI of prescription drug cases at the first Kansas Drugged Driving Summit in 2016. 

The Christopher Scott Law Office, LLC opened in 2017.  The practice focuses on criminal defense for the accused in Kansas and Missouri municipal, state, and federal courts.  With offices in Kansas and Missouri, Chris will use his vast knowledge and experience as a trial lawyer to help clients accused of everything from minor traffic offenses, to complex felony cases with potential penalties of years in prison.  If you are accused of a crime, hire an experienced trial lawyer to aggressively defend your rights, navigate you through the judicial process and examine all potential legal remedies, educate you about your case and available options, and give you the attention and empathy you and your case deserves. 

Chris is an active member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Leavenworth County Bar Association, Earl O’Connor Inn of Court, and as a passionate advocate for the community sits on the Advisory Council at Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City, MO, an organization helping high risk urban youth.  Chris enjoys rooting on the Chiefs and Royals, exercising, and exploring Kansas City with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
